Year 2 Trip to Colchester Zoo
On Friday 23rd June, Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Colchester Zoo. Our topic this half term in Year 2, is all about living things and their habitats, therefore, we thought it would be a great idea to visit the zoo!
We left school around 9am and made our way to Colchester Zoo by coach. We were so excited the whole way – we had a competition to see who could spot the zoo sign first!
By 10.15am, we had arrived at the zoo. We started the day with an educational talk about habitats, which was very interesting. At 12pm we found a picnic area to have our lunch. After lunch, we made our way around the zoo. We saw lions, zebras, elephants, sea lions, penguins, goats, pigs, fish, meerkats and many more amazing animals!
After a busy day, we boarded the coach at 3pm to head back to school. The children were so tired from their fun-filled day – some even fell asleep on the coach back! The children were well behaved throughout the trip and represented Phoenix amazingly.
Well done Year 2!
