Welcome To Our Class Page

In the links above you will find out about the exciting learning that is yet to come this year- please have a browse.

Below you will find important information regarding your child's PE time slot and information on reading.

At the bottom of the page you will our class blog- a weekly update of all the exciting things that happen within Year 4.

Reading Books

Every child in Year 4 will have a reading book and we encourage them to read with an adult at home. Children will bring home a book of their choice.  Please ensure that a note is made, in your child's reading record, each time they read at home. These notes will count towards your child earning a certificate, or even a prize!

P.E Days

Year 4 will have PE once a week, however the day may change. Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day. Long hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with PE if they have earrings in.

We have had a wonderful week this week!

VP – This week in Art we looked at optical illusions and collages created by Luz Perez Ojeda.

LA – In Maths we have been learning about decimal points. When you divide a number by 10, you move each digit one place to the right on a place value chart.

JLA – In English we have been learning about Gangster Granny.
We wrote a letter to Granny trying to persuade her to do something else on a Friday night.

CDW – In History we have been learning about the Vikings. I know that they attacked Lindisfarne because they had lots of gold.

JJE – In Science we learnt about solids, liquids and gases. We looked at how we can make them change state. You can turn a solid back into a liquid by heating it.

PR – In French we have been learning how to say a range of foods.

TR – In RE we have been learning about sacrifice. The word sacrifice has many definitions. One definition is giving something up. For example, if it was cold and you saw someone without a jacket you could give it to them.

VV – In Maths we are learning how to partition decimal points.
