Below you will find important information regarding your child's PE time slot and information on reading.

At the bottom of the page you will our class blog- a weekly update of all the exciting things that happen within Year 3.

Reading Books

Every child in Year 3 will have a reading book and we encourage them to read with an adult at home. Children will bring home a book of their choice.  Please ensure that a note is made, in your child's reading record, each time they read at home. These notes will count towards your child earning a certificate, or even a prize! 

P.E Days

Year 3 will have PE once a week, however the day may change. Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day. Long hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with PE if they have earrings in.

E.I “This week we have been planning and writing our own instructional text inspired by ‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth’ by Michelle Robinson.”

A.A “We have been learning how to sequence and summarise texts.”

Maths

A.W “We have been learning how to count in hundreds.”

R.A “We have been counting and partitioning numbers to 1000.”

Science

H.C “We planned an experiment for next week to text weathering on igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks.”

PSHE

R.H “We have been discussing rights and responsibilities in school.”

History

A.L “We have researched Stone Henge and Silbury Hill that were both built during the Neolithic Stone Age period.”

T.D “We have created research reports on a Stone Age location of our choice.”

French

A.P “We learned about France and how many people in the world speak French.”

A.A “We also learned some of the basics in speaking French.”

Art

A.B “We discovered an artistic method called Frottage introduced by artist Max Ernst. We created different pieces of art using this method by rubbing oil pastels over different textures.

RE

K.R.S “We learned about the significance of Bar/Bat Mitzvah of the Jewish faith.”

PE
