Reading Books
Every child in Year 3 will have a reading book and we encourage them to read with an adult at home. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure that their reading books and reading records are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week. Every time a child reads with an adult, they will receive a stamp on their reading chart, which will earn them certificates and book prizes.
P.E Days
Year 3 will have PE once a week, however, the day may change. Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. Hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.
We were thrilled to take part in Potato Print Publishing's flagship project, working with schools to help all children become published authors! We had great fun creating our books; we discussed characters, themes, settings, plot twists and more! We have enjoyed sharing our books in-class and now, they are available to buy! Maths
MH- In Maths, we have been learning the time.
SS- We have been learning about litres and millilitres.
English
KD- We have been writing a character’s point of view.
AS- We have been learning about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Science
LS- We have been making plants and seeing if the one in the cupboard or the one on the window grow best.
JJE- We have learnt the steps that make the plant grow.
Geography
HH- We have been writing a diary entry about what it would have been like in the Christchurch earthquake.
Art
AA- We have been designing a sock puppet.
Computing
KM- We have been making a penalty shootout game for two.
VM- We made a football game and I make Ronaldo scoring a penalty.
PE
LV- We were playing rounders.
TM- In rounders, I hit the ball and almost hit Miss Snow in the head!
RH- We played against 3G and we tied… we’re going to beat 3G next week!
