PE

Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half-term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with P.E lessons. P.E days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.

Reception Blog ~ Friday 17th September 2021

Another full on, fun packed week in Reception!

This week we have been amazing at coming into the classroom all by ourselves! We are doing an amazing job of being independent in coming in to class in the morning. We are trying hard to remember all of the little jobs we have to do to get ready for our day: hanging coats/ jumpers up on our pegs; putting our water bottles in the tray; washing our hands and finding our names to self-register in the mornings.

We have continued to read our focus book and have looked at a selection of other Elmer books. We particularly liked ‘Elmer’s Friends’ which is all about Elmer the elephant praising his friends for their different strengths. We talked about how we are all different and how we value each other’s individuality.

Lots of us have continued to enjoy school dinners this week and trying new foods. We are continuing to build our social skills during our lunch break and developing our independence using cutlery and putting our rubbish in the bins.  Please continue to look at and discuss the school menu with your child to explore lunch options. Please also remember, we are a chocolate and nut free school. Products containing chocolate and/or nuts are not permitted for snack or as a lunch box options. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

We are completing our assessments with the children this week. They have all worked hard and tried their best. Next week we will begin to introduce some more focused, formal learning and look forward to telling you all about it in next week’s blog. Watch this space!
