Reading Books
Every child in Year 3 will have a reading book and we encourage them to read with an adult at home. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure that their reading books and reading records are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week. Every time a child reads with an adult, they will receive a stamp on their reading chart, which will earn them certificates and book prizes.
P.E Days
Year 3 will have PE once a week, however, the day may change. Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. Hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.

English
In English this week, we have been looking at the features of a fact file. We have then begun to write our own fact file about chocolate.
DG “We have been reading a fact file all about chocolate”
SA “We have been using subheadings to structure our fact file”
Maths
This week in maths, we have begun to look at measuring. We have been looking at how big a metre, centimetre and millimetre is and what they can be used to measure.
AA “We have been using our ruler to measure things around the classroom in centimetres and millimetres”
MK “We have been learning how to use a ruler accurately”
Geography
In geography, we have started our topic on megacities. We have been looking at maps and finding where the top 10 megacities are.
NS “Tokyo is the world’s biggest megacity”
FP “Most megacities are in Asia”
PE
ER “In PE we practised throwing”
MP “We got in groups and passed the ball”
BRC “Some people had to try and get the ball when they were in the middle”
Art
KJ “We put different things into pain to make patterns”
MH “We used materials to print”
Homework is set on the Mirodo.
