Change over Tuesday
Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure your child has their book bag, reading book(s) and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.
Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half-term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with P.E lessons. P.E days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.
Reception Blog ~ Friday 17th September 2021
Another full on fun packed week in Reception!
This week we have continued to settle into our environment. We are doing an amazing job of being independent in coming in to class in the morning, getting ourselves ready for the day and learning our class and school rules. We continue to develop our sharing and turn taking skills and are beginning to build good peer relationships. We have continued to build our fine motor skills and lots of us are beginning to recognise our names to self-register in the mornings.
This week’s focus books have been a selection of the Elmer books. We particularly liked ‘Elmer’s Friends’ which is all about Elmer the elephant praising his friends for their different strengths. We talked about how we are all different and how we value each other’s individuality.
Lots of us have continued to enjoy school dinners this week and trying new foods. We are continuing to build our social skills during our lunch break and developing our independence using cutlery and putting our rubbish in the bins. Please continue to look at and discuss the school menu with your child to explore lunch options. Please also remember, we are a chocolate and nut free school. Products containing chocolate and/or nuts are not permitted for snack or as a lunch box options. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
We are completing our assessments with the children this week. They have all worked hard and tried their best.
We are all so impressed with the children – they are doing a fantastic job. Keep it up, Reception!
