Year 1 Beach Trip

On Tuesday 2nd May, Year 1 enjoyed a trip to Chalkwell Beach. Our topic, for this half term in Year 1, is all about the seaside. Therefore, we thought it would be a great idea to visit the beach to help us with our learning.

We left school, promptly, at 9am and made our way to Laindon station. We hopped on the train to Chalkwell. Some of us had never been on a train before so this was something new and exciting! By 10am, we had arrived at Chalkwell beach. We spent the day exploring and having fun. We made sandcastles, buried our friends in the sand, drew pictures of the seaside and played beach ball. Some of us even had a paddle in the water!

After a busy day, we got the train back at around 2pm. We were lucky enough to meet some lovely police officers at the train station! We had a picture with them and they told us all about their job. The children were so tired from their fun-filled day – some even fell asleep on the train back. As always, the children behaved impeccably and represented Phoenix amazingly. Well done Year 1!
