COVID 19 Update

Dear Parents, Pupils and the School Community.

What an upsetting and difficult start it has been to the half term break. I have certainly dreaded my phone ringing or an email coming through.

Unfortunately we have had three staff members and two pupils in Reception (from the same class) who have been  confirmed cases of COVID 19 and two staff members in year 6. We are all so upset and we wish them all a speedy recovery. Thank you to the two parents who have informed us of the pupil cases. We wish your children a speedy recovery.

If you need to contact the school, for any reason,  please can I ask that you use the familysupport@phoenix-pri.essex.sch.uk email address rather than the main office one.

We have informed Essex County Council and the DFE of each of the cases and we are working closely with everyone to ensure we are doing everything right.

Mr Kybert, Mr Bushell and my amazing team of cleaners have been undertaking a deep clean of all areas of the school this week ready for us to return on Monday safely with Nursery and years 1-5 (reception and year 6 will return on Monday 9th November).

Thank you to everyone for your continued support and those who have asked how we are all doing. Your trust and support means everything to us and we are doing everything we can to listen to your fears and concerns and do our best to alleviate them.

The school will remain closed this week so we won’t be able to answer or make any telephone calls but please email, using the email address above and we will reply as soon as possible.

I wish all those affected a speedy recovery and thank you for your continued support and trust. It means so much to all of us.

Take care and stay safe.

Miss Geary and the amazing staff at Phoenix.
