  • Christmas Cards

    Mon 29 Nov 2021

    The Phoenix Elves are back!

Our famous red post boxes will be back for 2021 for your child to post their Christmas cards to their friends and staff within the school.

Please ensure that the recipient's name AND class is written clearly on the envelope to avoid the card being undeliverable.

First post will be Wednesday 1st December and last post will be Thursday 16th December.

KS2 post box will be situated in the main office and the EYFS/KS1 post box will be situated within KS1. Children will have the opportunity to post their cards themselves and will be delivered to the recipients by our prefects.

Plus, this is a great opportunity for your child to practice and show their brilliant handwriting skills!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  • Children In Need

    Fri 19 Nov 2021

All our children thoroughly enjoyed the Children in Need activities, at the same time as raising much-needed money to support children less fortunate than themselves.

In particular, children enjoyed discussing what a better world for children would look like - with posters and pictures on the theme appearing around the school.

The school takes part every year, but this year was bigger and better than ever, with generous donations being received from all sectors of the school community.

In total, the school is likely to raise over £800.

Once again, a big thank you to everyone for taking part!

  • Active Essex Christmas vouchers

    Fri 12 Nov 2021

Active Essex are pleased to be delivering the Essex ActivAte holiday activity and food programme across Essex on behalf of Essex County Council.  This is a national programme that is funded through the Department for Education.  Through the December school holidays, Essex ActivAte will deliver FREE face to face holiday clubs for primary school aged children who are eligible for benefits based free school meals, as well as specialist clubs for SEND pupils and mental wellbeing hubs.

There are a range of clubs taking place across Basildon for the December school holidays.  In total there are 20 clubs taking place across the Basildon District with a mix of mainstream, SEND and Mental Wellbeing support clubs.  All clubs run for at least 4 hours each day (with the exception of mental wellbeing hubs that run for 2.5 hours).  The clubs will provide a mix of physical activity, enrichment activity, nutritional education and will provide at least 1 healthy meal.

In order to make the booking process easier, we are delighted to announce that Essex County Council have partnered with Evouchers.  Many of you will be familiar with them through the free school meal vouchers scheme.

Evouchers will be available for those families who ar eligible for free school meals from 12th November and will allow them access to a direct booking link and priority booking on the Essex ActiVate programme.

Once vouchers are received, parents are able to book their children on to activities for the December holiday.  Step-by-step instructions can be found in the following article -
