The School Day

 The School Day

Our School Day here at the Phoenix Primary School and Nursery ends at different times depending on what year group or key stage you are.

Reception, KS1 & KS2 children enter via the front or back entrance and are greeted by a member of staff.  The bell for KS2 children goes at 8:30am and children can go straight to their classrooms to start their learning for the day.  The bell for KS1 & Reception goes at 8:45am.  A member of the inclusion team will be on the KS1/Reception playground in the morning  if you have any questions.

The gates close at 9:00am prompt as this is the close of registration.  If for any reason you are late, you need to enter the school via the Office.  Maths and English are before morning break.   Break time is from 11:00am until 11:15 where learning recommences with  topic lessons until lunchtime.

Lunchtime starts at 12:00pm and ends at 1:00pm for Reception & KS1.  For KS2 lunch time begins at 1:00pm and ends at 2:00pm. If your child is packed lunch, Please provide your child with a healthy lunch that must not contain nuts, sweets or chocolate, this includes chocolate spread and products that contain chocolate.

Assemblies will either be a whole school assembly or in key stages. Celebration assemblies take place on Friday mornings.  This is where we acknowledge and reward pupils for their achievements for that week. Class Blogs are written on Thursday.  This is always flexible if we have special events or visitors.

The end of the school day is staggered. Please refer to the Entry & Exit times, which can be found on our 'Parents' tab, on this website.

We have a range of clubs on offer too that run before, during and after school - please see the separate tabs for more details.
