School Uniform

School Uniform

The wearing of school uniform is compulsory, as this identifies the children as members of our school community and strengthens their sense of belonging. The wearing of school uniform also underpins the concept of a purposeful learning environment. If pupils are not wearing appropriate school clothing, parents will be requested to bring in the necessary uniform.

Hair Styles

Hair should be kept clean and tidy and should not be brightly coloured, worn in any extreme style or have an inconsistent appearance. No less than a grade 2 is allowed and only natural colours are permitted. No patterns or tramlines should be shaved into the hair. Long hair should be fastened or tied with neutral or school colours. Hair ornaments/ bows should not be worn.

 

Shoes

Canvas/fabric, backless, slipper/ballet-type, or open-toe shoes are not allowed, along with high heel for safety reasons. Boots and trainers/trainer-types are not permitted in school.

 

PE Kits

PE is a statutory part of the curriculum, all children are required to participate and this includes swimming (for selected year groups). It is a parental responsibility to provide an appropriate PE kit as listed below. This should be in school every day.

 

Each child should have their own:-

Indoor PE lessons require black shorts, a white plain T-shirt and plimsolls.

Outdoor PE lessons require black tracksuit bottoms, a white T-shirt, a black sweatshirt and trainers.

ALL PE KIT SHOULD BE NAMED.

NO JEWELLERY TO BE WORN AT ALL IN PE LESSONS.

No body piercings or tattoos are allowed as part of our school dress code policy.

 

One pair of ear studs can be worn but must be removed for P.E.
