Welcome Message

Below you will find important information regarding your child's PE time slot and information on reading and homework.

At the bottom of the page you will find the children's class blog- a fortnightly update of all the exciting things that happen within 2B! Enjoy!

Reading Books

2B will have the opportunity to change their own reading books daily. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure book bags are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week.

Homework

2B will receive English and Maths homework every Friday, and it is due back in school on Wednesdays. Children will receive a house point for every piece of homework that they return to school. Please encourage your child to complete their homework, and support them if necessary. They will be given words to learn to spell on a Friday, and will be tested in school on the following Friday. If your child does not bring their homework home, please see their teacher as soon as possible.

P.E Days

2B have P.E weekly, usually on a Tuesday, but this is subject to change, so please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. For health and safety reasons hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed for P.E. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.

Class Blog~ Friday 12th October 2018

In R.E. we have been reading stories about kindness. CT says ‘We read a story about a man being healed by Jesus’. IW says ‘Once we had learnt the story, we acted it out with the children on our tables’.

In History, we pretended that we were history makers. We wrote a recount about what we had done to make history. LDC says ‘I pretended that I had made sure that everybody has a house’. DR says ‘I pretended that I had stopped pollution’. JC says ‘I pretended that I had protected all of the animals in the ocean’.

In Maths, we have been practising our number bonds to 10 and our 10x tables. TLS says ‘8 + 2 = 10’. JC says ‘0 + 10 = 10’. MRG says ‘1 + 9 = 10’.

LR says ‘When you count in 10s, you add another ten to the tens column each time’. EO says ‘In the 10x tables, all of the answers end in a 0’.

We have been learning about recycling in Science. HS says ‘You must never throw rubbish on the floor because animals could get hurt’. COS says ‘We should recycle so that we can make new things instead of wasting things’. AA says ‘You can recycle plastic, paper, metal and glass’. FH says ‘The recycling is collected and taken to a recycling depot. At the depot, the recycling is sorted and made into new things’.

In English, we have been reading the story, ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’. JC says ‘We have written invitations to the tiger to invite him for tea’. LS says ‘In an invitation, we have to include the time’. GB says ‘We also have to include the place’. SS says ‘An invitation needs to include the date’.
