Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school
What a successful Christmas Dinner Day! The children loved the Christmas dinner and the festive music. There were a range of different Christmas jumpers worn by all children. Thank you to all of the kitchen staff and the staff who served the dinner!
As part of Year 1’s ‘Great Fire of London’ history topic, we welcomed an immersive workshop to Phoenix. Through role-play, children explored what it was like to be Thomas Farriner, working in the bakery as the fire started. Using freeze frames and drama games, we explored how the fire spread so quickly and why, as well as how the people of London escaped in 1666. We had many historical ‘hats’ on; from being Thomas Farriner to King Charles. What an amazing experience we had to finalise all of our history learning this half term! The children all worked so hard and were a credit to the school. Well done, Year 1!
