How is our school residential almost over? I can’t actually believe it’s Thursday afternoon already.

We have had another phenomenal day. We were up bright and early ready for our delicious continental breakfast. Croissants and fresh fruit went down a treat and made a really lovely change from a full English.  We were all raring to start our last full day.

Group 1 (my group) had Air Jump and Assault Course, Mrs Smith’s group had Super Swing and bikes, Mr Irons’ group had Bushcraft and shelter build and Mrs Merritt’s group had Big Zipper and team tasks. What a brilliant morning!

Once our morning activities were completed we enjoyed pasta bake for lunch followed by a delicious cupcake which made us ready for the afternoon’s activities.

My group had Super Swing and bikes, group 2 had Air jump and assault course, group 3 had Big Zipper and Team tasks and Mrs Merritt’s group had High Ropes. The weather has been exceptional today - beautiful blue sky and the sun has been shining - we have been so lucky.

We have had such a brilliant day. The children have been amazing all week and we don’t want to come home!

We opened the tuck shop when we went back to the centre and prepared ourselves for another delicious dinner followed by the Hilltop cheesy disco!  I am so excited. I have my dancing shoes at the ready!

Have a great last night without us and we will see you all tomorrow. Take care. Missing you all. Thank you to Mrs Symes for my E-telegram - I’m missing you too!

    Take care everyone.

We had a brilliant evening. The activity was Famous Faces and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. After the evening activity, the children all went to bed and we were all ready for our last full day.

We will be back later today.

    Have a great Thursday everyone!

  • Hilltop Day 3

    Wed 09 Feb 2022

We’ve had another phenomenal day! Everyone slept well and were all up ready for breakfast on time. The children have all been incredible and so well behaved. Breakfast was delicious again - sausages, beans and hash browns.

Following a hearty breakfast we were all set for our morning activities. My group (group 1) had Climbing Wall and Power Fan, Mrs Smith’s group (group 2) had Crates and Archery, Mr Irons’ group had Air Jump and Assault Course and Group 4 (Mrs Merritt’s group) had Super Swing and Bikes.

The children were fantastic and all challenged themselves. I was very lucky to be able to do Air Jump again with Group 3. Miss Chapman, Mr Irons and I all went off 10m. It was amazing!

Lunch was pizza and proved very popular with everyone. We were ready to go by 1pm for this afternoon’s activities. My group had Crates and Archery, Group 2 had High Ropes, Group 3 - Climbing Wall and Power Fan and Group 4 - Bushcraft and Shelter build. We all had a brilliant time.

Can’t wait for our Roast dinner later. Once we get back to the centre, the tuck shop will be open.  This is definitely a highlight of the week!

  • Hilltop Day 2

    Tue 08 Feb 2022

What an amazing day! Hilltop is just the most incredible place ever!

Everyone was up bright and early ready for breakfast. Mr Irons’ and Mrs Merritt’s groups were first into breakfast. Today’s menu was bacon, scrambled egg and waffles it was delicious!  My group and Mrs Smith’s groups were next into breakfast and then we moved onto our first activities of the day.

As you know from the timetable, we had an action packed morning. From Climbing Wall to Big Zipper. The children were absolutely phenomenal! They all gave 100% and all challenged themselves.

Lunch was jacket potatoes with cheese and beans - delicious!

Back on the decking for 1pm ready for this afternoon’s activities. My first Air Jump of the week! My absolute favourite activity at Hilltop.

Mrs Merritt, Miss Owen and I all jumped off 10m on Air Jump. It was amazing.

The children have been incredible - the Hilltop staff have been so complimentary of all our children.

Today was also a very special day. It was Amanda’s birthday. A huge thank you to the brilliant Hilltop staff for everything they did to make Amanda’s special day even better.

Back to the centre and ready for tuck shop and dinner.  Dinner was delicious and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Mrs Wallace was very attached to her salad bowl!

After dinner  the children went up the hill to camp fire. Mrs Merritt said they had a fabulous time and toasted marshmallows. The children were impeccably behaved.

Another amazing day and evening! Can’t wait for tomorrow.

Signing off - the Hilltop crew!

Thank you for our E-telegrams. Mrs Wallace can’t believe she has not received one - yet!

    See you all tomorrow!

  • Hilltop Day 1

    Mon 07 Feb 2022

We are finally here! I was beyond excited all weekend . Everyone was at school bright and early and ready for the trip. A huge thank you to my amazing staff for all their hard work this morning.

We set off ahead of schedule and the weather was incredible. So much better than last year’s rainy start. We arrived about 11am and were very excited to have Harry as our Course Director for the second year running.

We emptied the coach and all went and unpacked in our rooms. I was so excited to be back here - especially as the sun was shining!

We had lunch and then went out for  the afternoon’s activities - ice breakers, trust and rope skill activities. The children were all amazing and had a brilliant time.

Dinner was burger and chips and Mr Irons thoroughly enjoyed it! Miss Chapman and Mr Irons were in charge of the tuck shop today and this proved very popular with everyone.

The evening activities were either Owls and Mice or staying in. Miss Chapman, Mrs Allan and Mr Bushell went outside for Owls and Mice while the rest of us stayed at the centre playing games. We’ve had the best day!  Can’t wait for tomorrow.

Sleep tight everyone. We will be back in the morning.
