Change over Tuesday
Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure you child has their book bag, reading books and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.
Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half-term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with P.E lessons. P.E days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.
Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!
The last Wednesday of each half term is an extended ‘Welcome Wednesday’! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m. The session will have a different curriculum focus each time. More information will be given nearer the time. Please look out for the letter inviting you to join us!
Tuesday 26th June 2018
We have been reading our new focus book – ‘What the Ladybird Heard’, all about a little ladybird who never says a word, but hears two bad men who want to steal the prize cow, and she helps to stop them! We have really enjoyed our story and have been singing a song all about the noises the animals make! We have even made our own ladybirds and other farm animals.
Our farm comes to school this week and we are very excited to meet the animals!
In magic maths we have been looking at positional language. We are very good now at telling each other where other children or objects are, if they are in front, behind, next to, on top, in between or under!
Thank you to those parents/carers who continue to read with, and help their child complete their homework. This is a vital part of a child’s education and helps promote extended learning opportunities. Reading regularly with your child is extremely beneficial so thank you for your support!
