Change over Tuesday
Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure you child has their book bag, reading books and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.
*** Please note that books will be given out in due course. ***
Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half term. These will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with PE lessons.
PE days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.
Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!
The last Friday of each half term is Focus Friday! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m in the school hall. The session will have a different curriculum focus each time. More information will be given nearer the time.
Class Blog – 11th July 2017
Wow! This year is nearly over. We have all grown so much and are very much looking forward to Year 1. We met our new teacher, Mr Irons, today during ‘class swap’ morning. Some of us were a bit nervous but returned to the classroom with big smiles on our faces.
We have been reading the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. We have looked at describing words for each of the scenes and have joined in with the actions and noises in the book.
We have also been working very hard on preparing our Graduation Ceremony that we will perform to our special adults on Friday. We have been practising some songs and a poem – we’ve even made Mrs Truman and Mrs Hooper ‘happy cry’ as they are so proud of us all!
In Magic Maths last week we were focusing on measuring distance. We all threw the beanbags and measured who threw their beanbag furthest. This week we will be revising numbers, patterns and shape ready for Year 1.
R2 have had a fantastic year. We have enjoyed ourselves immensely!
