Background Slideshow

Monday 11th -Friday 15th May

This week in R1 we have been reading 'What the ladybird heard' By Julia Donaldson.

We have story mapped the plot to use to help us with our independent writing. We use the actions to help us remember what happens in the story.

We made masks of the animals in the story and have learnt and sung a song version of the story as part of our creative lessons.

"I liked the sneaky robbers "- Georgio

"They were called Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh" - Tai

"The song was my best bit" - Alexia

"The fine prize cow is my favourite character" - Maisie

We have also been outside lots this week rolling down the big hill and running around the big track. This made us feel very tired! We also spoke about how exercise changes our body and makes our heart work hard.

Another busy week in R1.

Reading Books

R1 will have reading books changed each Tuesday. This will also be our library visit day and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure book bags are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week.

P.E Days

R1 have P.E every Friday. Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school on this day. Hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.

Reading Mornings

Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited to come and share a book with their child. The session is 8.45-9am. Parents/carers can complete 'Wow' sheets to tell us about something their child has done to make them say 'wow'!

Focus Friday!

The EYFS team would like to thank all who attended our Focus Friday sessions throughout the year. We had lots of fun and we hope you did too! Focus Fridays are held once half-termly throughout the school year and will concentrate on one area of development. Our next session is Friday 27th March. We hope you can make it!
