In the links above you will find out all about the exciting learning that is yet to come this half term! Please have a browse.
At the bottom of the page you will find the children's class blog- A weekly update of all the exciting things that happen within year 3! Enjoy!
Every child in year 3 will have a reading book and we encourage them to read with an adult at home. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure that their reading books and reading records are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week. Every time a child reads with an adult, they will receive a stamp on their reading chart, which will earn them certificates and book prizes.
Year 3 will have PE once a week, however, the day may change. Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. Hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.
Year 3 Weekly Update
Monday 20th July 2020
The time has arrived to write our last class blog and our last message to everyone at home for this academic year. We hope you have enjoyed the tasks set over the last few months.
We would like to thank you all for your hard- work during this unusual time.
We will miss you all lots but know that you will have an amazing time in Year 4.
To continue your journey of being Year 4 ready, please access the following resources over the summer holidays;
To be Year 4 ready, you must be secure in the 3, 4 and 8 times tables and the division facts. We will continue to monitor your TTRockstars scores. You can also practise these on Hit the Button.
If you want to practise the 4 operations (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division), Snappy Maths provide free worksheets for you to complete. http://www.snappymaths.com/
Twinkl also provide a range of worksheets, which may be of help.
We have been reading The Iron Man for the last few weeks at school. This is a great story to read and write about. A free version can be found online and a free audio book version is on YouTube. You could write a review of the story, or write an alternative ending.

Make sure you read every day! How many books will you read over the summer? Write down how many books you complete over the summer and rank them in order of your favourite books. Remember Basildon library is now open! Oxford Owl has free e-book access to allow your children to implement the phonetic skills they have learnt. We would recommend daily reading with your child. https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/
To be Year 4 ready, you should be practising the Year 3/4 common exception words. http://www.canonburrows.co.uk/serve_file/294727
