Welcome Message

Below you will find important information regarding your child's PE time slot and information on reading and homework.

At the bottom of the page you will find the children's class blog- a fortnightly update of all the exciting things that happen within 2G Enjoy!

Reading Books

2G will have their books changed weekly. This enables children to read and re-read their book more than once to become familiar with the language, confident in reading it and also develops and builds key comprehension skills. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure book bags are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week.

2G will receive English and Maths homework every Friday, and it is due back in school on Wednesdays. Children will receive a house point for every piece of homework that they return to school. Please encourage your child to complete their homework, and support them if necessary. They will be given words to learn to spell on a Monday, and be tested in school on Fridays.

P.E Days

2G have P.E weekly, usually on a Wednesday but this is subject to change, so please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. For health and safety reasons hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed for P.E. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.

Class Blog

Week beginning 25th June

What a busy few weeks we have had!

2G have been extremely busy taking part in the Basildon Schools Music festival and our School sports day. We enjoyed both activities very much and are very proud of ourselves and our achievments.

2G have also taken part in some outdoor learning. We looked for interesting trees and flowers in the school grounds and sketched them looking very closely for detail.

I English we have been reading lots of Anthony Browne books and in Maths we are focusing on being able to use the column method successfully.

ALS - I enjoyed English lessons when we have looked at Anthony Browne books.

WB - I liked sports day my team came second.

AB - I liked the music festival because our parents came to watch us sing and perform.
