In maths this last week, we have looked at measuring, especially in millilitres (JC), and on Friday we weighed and measured our ingredients for Handa's Fruit Punch (FB).  To make this we needed, satsumas, cucumber (MTB), pineapple (GT), tropical juice, apples, measuring scales (HH), and peach juice.  We mixed it all together. It tasted FANTASTIC! (all).

On Wednesday we had our school trip.  We went to Tropical Wings Zoo. Whilst we were there, we saw lemurs (AK), we saw porcupines (AMD),  we walked through the butterfly house (SS), which was really, really hot!  One of the children had to save Ms Hodges from the butterflies (TM).  We also saw lots and lots of birds (JC).  All the meercats were on duty! (MV).  We had lots of fun, and finished in the play area.

In history we have learnt about lots of different things, including, old and new tractors (BB), The Wright Brothers who made the flirst flight, and we have learnt all about Sir Francis Drake (ZB).  He was a sea captain (JG) who sailed around the world (JC, Joy). Before he died he became a knight (HB).  He died when we was 55.

Today was very exciting because we met our new teacher for year 2, Miss Brown!  She took us on a trip to where our new classroom will be (JD).  We wrote about what we wanted to do  in year 2. (MTB).  We will be called 2B in September, and are very excited!
