Here you will find our curriculum maps to show you the topics we have been learning each term and what we are working on this half term.
Further down the page you can read fortnightly class blogs about our learning including some quotes from the children. Enjoy!
There are also some reminders about P.E and Reading.
Homework
Mathletics is updated weekly for homework. The allocated activities are based around our learning from the week. If you need a reminder of your child's log in - please ask.
Reading Books
Please remember to sign your child's reading record book and send it to school when their reading book needs changing. Your child can then update their sticker chart and work towards earning their bronze, silver and gold reading certificates.
When a platinum certificate is earned they will also receive a free book!
Phonic books are also allocated to your child on Bug Club - if you need a reminder of their log in please ask.
Year 1 visit the library on a Friday and your child will bring home a book of their choice to share with you.
P.E Day for Summer Term 1
1S have P.E every Thursday for this half term.
Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit and it is kept in school. Hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.
16.03.15 -
This week we have been learning to name, describe and sort 2d and 3d shapes in Maths.
"I know that a square is a 2D shape and a cube is 3D and has square faces." (R.C.)
"I really liked going on a shape hunt in the playground." (C.D.)
We have also been carrying on with our learning in Science and investigating plants. There have been some excellent pieces of homework brought in for this too, including some home-made 3D flowers.
"The daffodils in the playground are not in bud any more there are now flowers." (L.V.)
"I enjoyed making my 3D flower, I used part of an egg box". (E.A.)
"I can label all the parts of a plant now." (R.V.)
We are looking forward to having our class photos taken next Monday.
