Reading Books

1I will have reading books changed daily. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure book bags are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week.


P.E Days

1I have P.E weekly and the day will be confirmed with a sign on the door. Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school on this day. Hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.

Tuesday 10th July 2018 ~ Class Blog

We hope everyone has had a fantastic week and are enjoying Englands run in the World Cup!

In Maths we have been about money (RD). We have 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins (JD). We also have £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes (KO).We have been using our money to buy different objects in class. .

We started to look at time (CR). We know that a clock has a minute hand and an hour hand (AS).

In RWInc. we have been reading some different stories, in our class we have been reading ‘Tag (KDP).

We have been learning our ‘ear’ (EB) sound and the ‘ure’ sound (FH).

We have been learning to use onomatopoeia to create poems  (LBJ) we have to use time conjunctions (EH).

In our new history topic we are looking at the history of aviation! We started with hot air balloons (EK) then came gliders (JJTB) finally came aeroplanes (LM). The Wright Brothers created the first plane (CC)

In science we are looking at the life cycle of a butterfly! Butterflies are insects (DC). They are an invertebrate (LG) and they start off as a caterpillar.

In GPS we have been learning about the past and present tense. The present tense happens now (LMH) the past tense has already happened (MR). We have been using is = present and was = past.
