Read through the words using your phonics skills.

Today's lesson will start with a mental maths session- Big Maths, Beat That!
The children are encouraged to try this task independently, using jottings/ fingers to help solve the number sentences.
The second part of today's task is to find the missing number in subtraction question
e.g 5 - ? = 3. We encourage the children to use counters to help with this. Take 5 counters, take hold of the 3 we know we have, how many are left? This will give us the missing number.
