Welcome Message

Change over Tuesday

Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure your child has their book bag, reading book(s) and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.

PE

Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half-term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with P.E lessons. P.E days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.

Welcome Wednesday

Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!

The last Wednesday of each half term is an extended ‘Welcome Wednesday’! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and each session will have a different curriculum focus. More information will be given nearer the time. Please look out for the letter inviting you to join us!

Class Blog

This week in R3 we have been so busy; we have performed to all of our parents with our best singing and acting for our play ‘Whoops-a-Daisy Angel’ and had a super time at the Winter Warmer!

We have been continuing to practice all of our Set 1 sounds in Read Write Inc., and looking at how to blend sounds into words and also hear the sounds in a given word. We have been looking at how to write a simple sentence too!

In Maths we have been practicing all of the skills we have looked at, including patterns, money, writing numbers and shapes.

R3 have had lots of fun role playing like a zoo, looking at the different habitats where animals live. We all made our very own fact file for our favourite zoo animal, thinking about their habitats, diets and a fun fact!
