Change over Tuesday
Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure your child has their book bag, reading book(s) and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.
Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half-term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with P.E lessons. P.E days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.
Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!
The last Wednesday of each half term is an extended ‘Welcome Wednesday’! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and each session will have a different curriculum focus. More information will be given nearer the time. Please look out for the letter inviting you to join us!
This week we have been looking at all of the things we have learnt in maths since Christmas! We have been practicing our measuring, addition sentences and sharing.
Our focus book this week is Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs. We have had lots of fun in the Dinosaur Museum, writing information about the dinosaurs we have been learning about. We have had lots of fun in the messy tray which was a dinosaur nest; we helped the dinosaur eggs and making a dinosaur swamp with Gelli Baff.
On Friday some dinosaurs had visited our classroom and left their footprints everywhere! We have been using multilink to measure the different sized footprints we found.
On Wednesday we had the best PE lesson! Our grown ups came in to see us do PE and they got to join in too! Thank-you to all of the adults who came in, we hope you had the best time too!
Thank you to all parents who are returning books and book bags daily, which enables us to read with your child regularly in school. Thank you also to parents who are completing homework with the children weekly!
