Welcome Message

Change over Tuesday

Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure your child has their book bag, reading book(s) and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.

PE

Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half-term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with P.E lessons. P.E days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.

Welcome Wednesday

Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!

The last Wednesday of each half term is an extended ‘Welcome Wednesday’! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and each session will have a different curriculum focus. More information will be given nearer the time. Please look out for the letter inviting you to join us!

Class Blog

08.02.2019

We have had such a busy week in R3! Our topic is Little Red Riding Hood. The woodcutter protects Little Red from the Big Bad Wolf. We have been using this story alongside internet safety day to think about who can help keep us safe. We have also been making wanted posters of the Big Bad Wolf so that the 3 Little Pigs know to watch out for him!

Our focus in maths has been 3D shapes. We have looked at spheres, cones, cubes, cylinders, triangular prisms, pyramids and cuboids! We have been counting how many faces, vertices and edges the different shapes have and been looking for 3D shapes around the classroom!

Our PE focus was practicing our co-ordination skills using a tennis racket and ball. We have been catching, bouncing and guiding the balls around the hall.

Next week we have a special week at school; Art Week! We will be focusing on Chinese New Year.
