Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure you child has their book bag, reading books and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.
*** Please note that books will be given out in due course. ***
Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with PE lessons. PE days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.
Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!
The last Friday of each half term is Focus Friday! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m in the school hall. The session will have a different curriculum focus each time. More information will be given nearer the time.

We have had a great week so far. We have started a new Focus book called ‘Zog’. It’s about a dragon who goes to school. We have spoken about different jobs, about trying our best, and about different textures. We have even began to make our very own dragon masks using different collage materials with different textures. Some of us wanted to make a soft dragon mask, whilst others wanted theirs to be rough and bumpy!
We have started to become more independent at lunchtime, and have begun to eat by ourselves with our friends. We are really settling in well to our first few weeks in Reception.
