Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure you child has their book bag, reading books and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.
*** Please note that books will be given out in due course. ***
Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half term. Kits will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with PE lessons. PE days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.
Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!
The last Friday of each half term is Focus Friday! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m in the school hall. The session will have a different curriculum focus each time. More information will be given nearer the time.
R1 Class Blog – 28th March 2018
We are continuing to read our focus book, ‘Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs’. There are lots of different ‘Harry and the Dinosaur’ books that we have been reading. We have found out lots of information about different dinosaurs and we have been able to write facts about our chosen dinosaur. We have also looked at the fossils of different dinosaurs and have been trying to find them hidden in sand.
In ‘Magic Maths’ we have been looking at exploring number. We have been reading numbers and ensuring we write each digit correctly. We have explored place value and swapped the digits to make a new number.
We are looking forward to the Easter break and have started looking at the Easter story.
Thank you to those parents/carers who continue to help their child complete their homework. A new piece of homework is handed out each Friday so make sure your child’s book bag is in school for this. Thank you.
