Change over Tuesday
Reception reading books will be changed every Tuesday. Please ensure you child has their book bag, reading books and reading record. Please bring these items every day as your child will regularly read with an adult in school.
*** Please note that books will be given out in due course. ***
Please ensure your child has full kit in school throughout the half term. These will be sent home each holiday for washing. Hair should be tied up and earrings must be removed on these days. If children are wearing earrings they will not be allowed to join in with PE lessons.
PE days may change from week to week. You will be informed on a weekly basis so please look out for messages on our classroom door.
Every Wednesday parents/carers are invited into classrooms from 8:45-9:00 am to share a book with their child. We hope you can make it!
The last Friday of each half term is Focus Friday! Parents/carers are invited into school to spend some time with their child exploring the activities that take place in Reception. The session will take place from 9:00-10:00 a.m in the school hall. The session will have a different curriculum focus each time. More information will be given nearer the time.
Week beginning: 26th June
What a busy time R1 have had the past few weeks! We have been learning the Julia Donaldson story 'What the Ladybird heard' and we went to Wat Tyler park on our school trip. We looked for the ladybird and some of us were lucky enough to spot her!
We are currently writing a recount of our trip and we are using the 'Talk for writing' map to help us.
In 'Magic maths' we have been learning about distance. We went on to the field and measured how far we could throw a beanbag. We used meter sticks and a tape measure to help us.
We are very excited this week for sports day on Wednesday. We are all going to try our best!
What a busy and exciting few weeks we have had!
