4S

Welcome Page

Welcome to the class page for 4S. Please take time to look around the school’s website for key information. Also, make sure that you visit this page as often as possible as it is here that you will be able to view what your child is doing in school each week and every term via the Class Blog that appears below.

Below you will also find important information about your child’s PE slot as well as advice about reading at home.

PE

4S will have PE weekly and it is therefore essential that your child has their PE in school everyday. It is also important that each item of PE kit is clearly labelled with your child’s name in case things get lost.

Reading at Home

Reading at home is essential for your child to make the progress necessary with their school work. Your child will have a Reading Record Book that they bring home each night. If they read to you or another adult, or to themselves, please sign the Record Book to say this has happened. They will then get credits at school towards a range of reading certificates that they will receive in assembly.

4S have had a great week and we wanted to share some of the things we have been doing.

ZT said, “In English we have been thinking about what makes a good narrative and how to include dialogue.”

LL added, “We found out how to write speech.”

RJ said, “We have also been writing a persuasive letter to Miss Geary, trying to persuade her to change the uniform.”

TK said, “We have done a reading test to see how good we are at reading.”

KMc said, “In maths we have been finding factor pairs, to help us with multiplication and division.”

LF said, “In science we went outside and used the instructions we wrote the other week to help build a minibeast hotel.”

EH said, “In French today we learnt how to tell someone our name and age in French.”

LC said, “On Monday we are going to visit Colchester Castle, we are all excited.”

LC also said, “In computing we made a catching game using roman numerals.”

ML added, “We had to design a background for the game.”

TA said, “In art we have started to make and colour the clothes for our Roman and Celt soldiers.”

ZT added, “And we stuck them on!”

SGG said, “In class I found that I had nearly filled my reading chart, RT is the closest to finishing though.”

We are looking forward to next week being just as busy and exciting.
