In the links above you will find out all about the exciting learning that is yet to come this half term! Please have a browse.

 

Below you will find important information regarding your child's PE time slot and information on reading.

 

At the bottom of the page you will find the children's class blog- A fortnightly update of all the exciting things that happen within 3H! Enjoy!

 

Reading Books

Every child in 3H will have a reading book and we encourage them to read with an adult at home. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure that their reading books and reading records are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week. Every time a child reads with an adult, they will receive a stamp on their reading chart, which will earn them certificates and book prizes.

 

P.E Days

3H will have PE once a week, however, the day may change. Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. Hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.

3H Class Blog 6th February 2019

 

In maths, we have been using money. GMB.

We have been adding amounts and using coins to find different amount. SS. 

 

In miss Pearl's set, we have been partitioning numbers. DP. 

We have used the bus stop method to divide amounts. BS. 

 

In English this week, we have been writing a dragon poem, which we will performing this week. PB. 

We have been using adjectives, metaphors and similes. EG, JG.

 

In history, we have been looking at the Merrivale monument. DC. 

The monuments at Merrivale would have been used as a burial sites. KL. 

A cist is a grave where people would have been buried surrounded by their favourite objects. KL, JG. 

 

In science, we have been looking at shadows and how they move. EG. 

We used a torch and a ruler to measure how long the shadow is compared to how close the object was to the light. DP. 

The closer the object is to the light, the bigger the shadow. JD. 

The closer you are to the light, the more you are blocking the light and the bigger the shadow. MC.
