Below you will find important information regarding your child's PE time slot and information on reading and homework.
At the bottom of the page you will find the children's class blog- a fortnightly update of all the exciting things that happen within 2G Enjoy!
2G will have their books changed weekly. This enables children to read and re-read their book more than once to become familiar with the language, confident in reading it and also develops and builds key comprehension skills. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure book bags are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week.
2G will receive English and Maths homework every Friday, and it is due back in school on Wednesdays. Children will receive a house point for every piece of homework that they return to school. Please encourage your child to complete their homework, and support them if necessary. They will be given words to learn to spell on a Monday, and be tested in school on Fridays.
2G have P.E weekly, usually on a Wednesday but this is subject to change, so please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. For health and safety reasons hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed for P.E. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.
Week beginning 20th November
2G have once again been very busy bees! We have been learning lots and growing our brains!
We have been learning about non-fiction texts in English, measuring in Maths, where we live in Europe in our Geography lessons and how to be good friends in PSHE. What an exhausting timetable!
In English we have been looking at non-fiction texts about Emperor Penguins. We have been writing about the features of the text type, identifying suffixes and writing fact files.
In Maths we have been looking at measuring using CM, M, MM. We have also been looking at measuring capacity using L and ML.
We have been working hard to learn our nativity songs and are very much looking forward to the upcoming performance.
LG- I liked 'Big Write' this week.
DC - I liked maths using L and ML.
MP - I like listen up time.
