Below you will find important information regarding your child's PE time slot and information on reading and homework.
At the bottom of the page you will find the children's class blog- a fortnightly update of all the exciting things that happen within 2G Enjoy!
2G will have their books changed weekly. This enables children to read and re-read their book more than once to become familiar with the language, confident in reading it and also develops and builds key comprehension skills. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure book bags are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week.
2G will receive English and Maths homework every Friday, and it is due back in school on Wednesdays. Children will receive a house point for every piece of homework that they return to school. Please encourage your child to complete their homework, and support them if necessary. They will be given words to learn to spell on a Monday, and be tested in school on Fridays.
2G have P.E weekly, usually on a Wednesday but this is subject to change, so please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school every day. For health and safety reasons hair should be tied up and earrings MUST be removed for P.E. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.
Week beginning 5th February 2018
2G have, as always, been working very hard this week!
We have been learning about how to stay safe when we are online. We discussed our digital footprint, rules to help us stay safe and we did this as part of safer internet day.
In maths we have been looking at fractions. It has been tricky but we have persevered and tackled it in the end.
In English we have started looking at a poem about 'A Pirates life'. We are discussing different word types used in the poem.
Some of 2G also took part in the football tournament at James Hornsby School. They had great fun!
KL - I liked doing handwriting this week.
SW - I enjoyed safer internet day.
KL - I have liked maths this week and being challenged.
