1I will have reading books changed daily. We will visit the library weekly and children will bring home their choice of a library book. Please ensure book bags are in school each and every day as we will be reading with each child throughout the week.
1I have P.E weekly and the day will be confirmed with a sign on the door. Please ensure that your child has their P.E kit at school on this day. Hair should be tied up and earrings be removed on these days. Your child will not be able to join in with P.E if they have earrings in.

We have had a busy couple of weeks and we looked amazing for World Book Day!
In Maths we have been learning how to measure length (MD) we have been using a ruler (EH). We have been looking at capacity – how full something is when it has liquid in it (JD). It can be full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty (KO).
We have revisited addition and subtraction (AS) including missing number!
In RWInc we have been reading some different stories, in our class we have been reading ‘Pip’s Pizza’ (DC). Pip has to make a big pizza it looks delicious! (CS)
We have been reading about sharks – they live in the ocean. They have gills to breath (CH) and they carnivores because they eat meat (EK).
We have been learning about crabs too! Crabs live under the sea and in rock pools (CR). Crabs eat seaweed (MD) and sometimes they eat small fish so they are omnivores (JD).
We have been practising the ‘ng’ sound (RD) and the ‘ng’ and ‘nk’ sound (KDP).
We have been learning about animals and their food chains.
The first animal was plankton, the shrimp ate that, the shanny fish ate the shrimp and the herring gull ate the shanny fish.
There are five types of animals – mammals (NA); reptiles (SV); birds (FH); amphibians (KD) and fish (DC).
Some animals only eat meat they are called carnivores (HTC). Some animals only eat vegetables they are called herbivores (CC) and some animals eat both meat and vegetables they are called omnivores (MA).
In Science we have been looking at flowers. We have the stem which keeps the flower nice and straight (CR). The petals that help the plant reproduce (FH). The roots help the flower drink all the water and they keep the flower in the ground (EB). Finally we have the leaves which absorb the sunlight which turns into energy.
In GPS we have been practising our high frequency words including by, my, we, were, your.
In extended writing we wrote about fish! They have scales (JJTB) they have cold blood (AS) and they come in different shapes and sizes (CC).
